DIAGNOSIS
A very large Leptosalenia characterized by a highly ornate apical system. The genital plates feature radiating sutural pits resembling the fingers of a hand.

DESCRIPTION
TOP: Length, width, height: 29.1 mm L × 20.5 mm H.
Top shape: Round to subpentagonal.
Top domed: Apical system sits on the corona as a slightly raised cap. Apex is located at the inside lip of the periproct.
SIDE: Ambitus: Positioned 33% of height from the adoral surface.
BOTTOM: Bottom shape: Flat.
AMB: Amb shape: Flexuous; widest at the peristome.
Amb arrangement: Two rows of 25–26 tubercles.
Amb width: Interambulacra are 3 times the size of the ambulacra.
PORE PAIRS: Arrangement: Uniserial; becoming slightly crowded at the peristome.
TUBERCLES: Primary Perforated: No (Imperforate per Family).
Primary Crenulate: Yes.
Interambulacral Tubercles: Two rows of four tubercles (three large in each row). Most tubercles in the holotype are damaged or missing.
Areolas: Raised; mamelons large and protruding.
Scrobicular Tubercles: Surround each primary tubercle except on the adradial side and vertically between each other.
GRANULES: Distribution: Further granulation present along the interradial suture.
FASCIOLE: Absent.
APICAL SYSTEM: Size: Large; diameter ~54% of test diameter.
Shape: Pentagonal; genital plate outer edges are rounded.
Plating: Each genital plate has a central gonopore. Ocular plates are "bird-shaped" with large "wing-shapes" on both sides.
Ornamentation: Highly ornate; approximately thirteen pits radiate outward like fingers on a hand on each genital plate.
PERIPROCT (ANUS): Shape: Subpentagonal.
Features: Surrounded by a pentagonal lip.
PERISTOME (MOUTH): Size: Diameter 42% of test diameter.
Shape: Subpentagonal.
SPINES: Unknown.
SPECIMENS STUDIED & CONDITION: One specimen studied: Holotype NPL 82986.
ETYMOLOGY
Derived from the Latin word manus (hand), referring to the finger-like patterns of the pits on the genital plates.
REMARKS & COMPARISONS
Remarks: This specimen possesses an ornate apical system unlike any other Leptosalenia. The radial sutural pits are similar to those of Salenia elliotti, but are fewer in number. The size (29.1 mm) is exceptionally large for the genus.
